The mother, too, is to stay in jail still (the father's detention was extended yesterday):

Shalwati remand extended for another 11 days
Astro Awani, 31 January 2014

But at least both parents will know that their children will be back with their own relatives, in their own country. Hopefully, that will be one burden off their backs.

In Malaysia the development is noticed and being published by the media. In Scandinavia the media are still ignorant or in denial, as far as I can see.

The Rakyat Post, 31 January 2014

The children are home in Malaysia, and they have visited the Prime Minister and his wife.

KUALA LUMPUR: All four children of the Malaysian couple who were detained by Swedish authorities over child abuse allegations have arrived here safely from Stockholm.

The case is the top story on the "Live tv" news on Astro Awani now Saturday at 10am (European time). The coverage showed several sequences, altogether of about 4 minutes.

Note: Still nothing about the case in the morning news in Sweden today! Not about the children being gone from Sweden in the company of the Deputy Foreign Minister and their aunt, nothing about their safe arrival in Kuala Lumpur, nothing about their visit to the Prime Minister.

Here is one more article published in Malaysia about Scandinavian child protection:

Jorgen Stueland:
Child protection: The Norwegian way
The writer illustrates that when it comes to child protection issues, the Norwegian authorities are no different from the Swedes

Malaysian authorities put it all so simply and sensibly (look carefully at the article below!) that it should wake our Scandinavian people up to pondering how weird and inhumane our own 'thinking' on child protection is. All honour to Malaysia!

Shalwati gave permission to bring home children to Malaysia: Hamzah
New Straits Times, 1 February 2014

From the contents:

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin:

"He said he had asked for her permission when he met her at a prison in Stockholm, Sweden, with the woman signing the consent letter."

"He said he also discussed with Shalwati, a teacher who is on no-pay leave, on her children's schooling in Malaysia.
She requested that her children be placed at national schools. She does not want to sent the children to international schools because of the different culture."

"We will discuss with the children on the school they want to go to," he told reporters at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's residence at Jalan Langgak Duta here today."

"I have met by counter part at the Swedish Home Ministry to discuss our stand in the Convention on the Rights of the Child signed by both countries on Feb 17,1995."

Here as well:
Shalwati consented for her children to be brought home, said Deputy Home Minister
Astro Awani, 1 February 2014

Hello, the case has been found by the Indian newspaper The Hindu in Chennai in the couth-east of India, who probably have a reporter or a connection in Kuala Lumpur:

Children of Malaysian couple arrested in Sweden return home

Probably quite correctly diagnosed by Malaysia: The children need assistance to overcome the trauma of the way they have been put through in Sweden:

JKM to provide counselling for children of Malaysian couple detained in Sweden
The Malay Mail, 1 February 2014
"The four children of the Malaysian couple detained in Sweden will be given counselling to help them overcome their trauma and psychological stress."

Here from the neighbouring country Indonesia:

Malaysians angry as Sweden holds parents for hitting child
Jakarta Post, 1 February 2014

The Malaysian government will also try to help the parents' defence in the criminal case:
"Prime Minister Najib Razak, flanked by the four yawning kids, said in a live televised press conference shortly after their arrival that the government would try its best to help the parents defend their case."

"He said the government had appealed for the children to be allowed to return to Malaysia to stay with a relative 'because we are concerned about their welfare'."

"Columnist M. Veera Pandiyan wrote in The Star daily on Wednesday that the couple's prolonged detention was 'a travesty of universal justice'."

Natural feelings, expressed both by the children and by the Deputy Foreign Minister (quite the opposite of what our child protection professionals claim foster children feel):
Children of Malaysian couple held in Sweden to stay with relatives
The Star, 2 February 2014

Hamzah said the first thing he did when he arrived in Stockholm was to meet the children. “The youngest asked if he could return to Malaysia,” he said.
“The boy asked me: ‘Uncle, can I follow you back?’ I knew then that I needed to pursue this matter and make sure the children came home.”

Aisyah thanked the Prime Minister for making it possible for them to return to Malaysia and be reunited with their family.

Victims of a clash of cultures
The Star, 2 February 2014

Correctly observed: "The four children are now safely home."
Najib grateful to Swedish govt for returning kids
The Star, 2 February 2014

The Malaysian Prime Minister does not share in the Nordic delusions about it being wonderful to be put into foster care:
PM and Rosmah rush home to meet children
The Star, 2 February 2014
“I do not want them to be emotionally and psychologically affected by the situation that they were in after being placed in foster care after their parents were detained,” the Prime Minister said.

Western 'culture' has probably got a number of enemies for itself by treating such cases in such a way:
I want them to be a true Malaysian, says mother
The Star, 2 February 2014

Correspondingly in New Straits Times:

Quite enlightning regarding the way Sweden has been treating the family. The daughter of 14 has for instance been interrogated by Swedish authorities for 20 hours:
'I can't thank you enough'

'We'll do all we can for couple'
New Straits Times, 2 February 2014

The Bhattacharya case in Norway is mentioned briefly:

Swedish authorities have demanded that three conditions must be complied with (hilarious when one considers the way they themselves have treated the children):

JKM will ensure three conditions set by Swedish government are met - Rohani
Astro Awani, 1 February 2014

So Malaysia is to write periodic reports, give the children counselling, and ensure social assurance.

The children's uncle had previously taken the burden of going all the way to Sweden to try and see the arrested couple and help the family, but been denied by the Swedish authorities.
Note: The uncle goes for public schools, just like the children's mother wants:

Uncle says siblings will attend public schools
Astro Awani, 2 February 2014

The children have gone on from Kuala Lumpur and are now home with their family in Kota Baharu (north-east in Malaysia):

Siblings arrive safely greeted by tears of joy
Astro Awani, 1 February 2014
