Grandparents have the right to see their grandchildren, EU court rulesDaily Mail, 31 May 2018
"Grandparents have the right to see their grandchildren, the European Union's top court said on Thursday after a Bulgarian woman sought access to her grandson after her daughter and the child's father divorce."" 'The notion of rights of access refers not only to the rights of access of parents to their child, but also to the rights of access of other persons with whom it is important for the child to maintain a personal relationship, among others, the child's grandparents,' the EU Court of Justice said."Note!: The EU Court of Justice is not identical to the European Court of Human Rights, which is the court of the Council of Europe, of which many countries not in the EU are also members.
The judgment is nevertheless important to other countries too, in the rights it emphasises. From previously, I remember that there is something already in French law, about parents (and presumably others) not being allowed to prevent their children from meeting their grandparents.
