Marianne Haslev Skånland:
Norwegian child protection as seen from Russia

Here is one of the several cases in which the Norwegian child protection services (CPS, "barnevernet") actions against children of foreigners. This time the father is apparently Norwegian, cf the wife's married name. She has probably acted very unwisely, accusing her (estranged?) husband of incest.

Norway's child protection services do whatever they want to helpless children
Pravda, 07.07.2011

Most incest accusations are without a factual basis and some people – especially women – use them as a weapon in custody disputes, very unwisely. The CPS "believe" such accusations if they want to, viz if it suits their purpose. In this case, it apparently suits them better to declare the mother unfit, with no regard for the love that the children have for their mother regardless. What happens when the Child Protection "Services" enter a custody dispute is rather arbitrary but regularly does great harm to children.

The younger son, the article says, has been given into the custody of the father. The older one, who is old enough to return to his mother, where he wants to be, is prevented by the CPS, who jail him effectively by placing him in one of their foster-homes or institutions, and taking away his phone and his possibilities of communicating with others. Indeed, there is nothing unusual about their treatment of him. This is the way children and youths in Norway are manhandled by the CPS all the time, with complete loss of freedom and family.

Such is life in Norway: There is probably no limit to what the population of Norway will believe is in "the best interest of the child", when it is served up as politically correct propaganda.

Polish families living in Norway also suffer from Barnevern. The first child who escaped from Norway was a Polish girl Nicola. It is because of her story Sasha Frolov learned about the Polish detective Krzysztof Rutkowski. After the Polish and Russian media reported on the Russian boy's escape, the detective was asked for similar assistance by another 30 Polish children.

Escalation in pravda.ru

Quite a strongly worded article, Arild!

Here are two more about the same issue:
Norway offers residence permits in exchange for children
Russian boy hopes for Queen's help
Regarding this last, it would be interesting if the Royal Palace commented at all. Perhaps they will, since horrible incest is claimed; after all, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette Marit have – probably inspired by Swedish Queen Silvia – taken to visiting "incest centres", these very unhealthy places with people circling around their (real and alleged) traumas and conjuring up new ones, instead of leading ordinary lives.
The Royal House, though, is of no help to Norwegian families persecuted by the CPS (child protection services, Norw. "barnevernet"), as we all know. That is one of the problems of having an institution seemingly in possession of power and influence but in reality always subservient to the authorities.

Information about Norwegian CPS abroad is strongly needed. And the Russians and the Poles seem to go straight to the central point: the senseless madness of the CPS in ignoring the bonds of love between children and parents, while babbling on about "the best interest of the child".

On the negative side: A pity about the seemingly unreserved belief in incest accusations and the belief that the CPS is specifically geared to attack just foreigners, because such misunderstandings make the complaining people and their countries vulnerable to counter-attack. It is impossible to know from the published stories what the truth is of these particular accusations, cf Russian boy becomes sex slave to his own father in Norway, but false accusations have caused incredible tragedies in western countries and of course the CPS and their allies are least of all capable of finding out the truth and even to assess the situation in any concrete case in a down-to-earth manner. In this article: Can victims of pedophiles hope for anything? both interviewer and interviewed expert seem confused, to say the least, cf:
–   " ... Olga Bykovtseva, a senior expert of the department of expertise of sexual conditions of the forensic expertise bureau of the Moscow government's healthcare department" [says:] 'Unfortunately, such stories take place on a regular basis. The number of sex crimes committed against very small children, from age two and older, is growing steadily. The most horrible thing about such crimes is when children suffer from their own parents.' "
.....
–   " 'But how can you understand that what the child is telling you is true? How can you distinguish truth from fiction in a child's story?'
'We send a child to a psychologist. There can be psychological expertise conducted, if there is such a necessity. It is the psychologist who decides whether the child is lying or not.' "
Knowing what we do about psychologists it is certainly difficult to trust this expert completely on other issues as well.

The people in pravda.ru seem a little too uncritical and too prone to swallow all kinds of rumours flying around. The formulations used make them seem rather het up:
Bear murdered because of British student
Russian water parks built for entertainment and death

Nor do they seem to grasp fully that the central point about the CPS is neither that children are taken by the CPS with adoption in view, nor that foster parents programmatically ill-treat foster-children. Yes, ill-treatment is far more frequent when a child is not with its own parents, but even when the child is not ill-treated and abused, the very attitude of foster-parents is like that of the CPS: a lack of understanding how harmful it is to be taken from its own parents.

On balance, though, I think we should welcome these articles. It is very positive that a lot of information about the way the CPS carries on is publicised abroad, even when some of the information is not correct. It may indeed, as pravda.ru says: "- - help save other children in Norway who were separated from their families in the name of perversely conceived 'child protection.' "

There are many nationalities represented in Norway. The thirty from Poland is just one of many groups. In addition, there are also thousands of Norwegian children who flee very often.
